A rare opportunity to join this prestigious organisation in Newmarket - Assistant Accountant - £competitive Your new company A rare and exciting opportunity to join this prestigious organisation within the equine sector, located in Newmarket, my client is seeking a passionate and driven Assistant Accountant / Accountant to join their professional, friendly and down to earth finance team to look after their purchase ledger function. Your new role Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for maintaining the purchase ledger function with key duties including: Daily processing and coding of invoices Setting up new supplier accounts Preparation and processing of supplier payment runs Invoice query investigation and resolution Supplier statement reconciliations Processing expenses Managing and posting self-billing invoices Raising invoices and credit notes Month end ledger reconciliations Petty cash management and reconciliations Supporting with non accounts duties on open days within the business What you'll need to succeed You will have a track record in the successful running of all aspects of the purchase ledger function with a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting procedures. Knowledge of VAT rules in relation to invoices is pivotal. You will have strong customer service skills and feel comfortable communicating with people at all levels. Key will the ability to work on occasion additional hours during busy periods (due to the requirement on occasions to work additional hours the business offers a very generous holiday allowance to reflect this to cover these hours and also as recognition of their employees dedication).
