Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Job Reference: J11-A-20-22725 Employer: NHS Professionals - Flexible Workers Location: Prestwich Salary: Band 5/6 Directorate: Nursing, Governance and Risk Responsible to: Infection Prevention and Control Lead Nurse Accountable to: Senior Head of Integrated Health Care Job Summary/Purpose The post holder as part of the Nursing, Governance and Risk Team will support the work of the Infection Prevention and Control Lead Nurse and the Senior Head of Integrated Health Care/Director of Infection Prevention and Control to deliver the infection prevention and control standards across the GMMH footprint. Provide day to day advice to clinical service on IPC matters as and when they arise under the supervision, direction and guidance of the Lead Nurse for Performance. Support clinical services with the management of outbreaks and development of IPC care plans for service users. Deliver programmes of IPC training in relation to Trust induction, mandatory training for clinical staff, and LINK nurse training days. Record all clinical information in relation to IPC information, advice and guidance on Paris. Liaise with RBH IPC and Microbiology service as and when required or as directed by Lead Nurse for Performance. Participate in PLACE assessments. Attend and contribute to the Trust IPC committee. Conduct the annual IPC audit programme in all clinical areas, as directed by the Lead Nurse for Performance, and support and monitor the development of associated action plans. Liaise with the clinical audit department and clinical services to ensure the quarterly hand hygiene audits are completed and associated action plans are developed. Contribute and respond to RCA IPC incidents on datix. Who are NHS Professionals?
