Overview
We are looking for confident, friendly and passionate individuals to join Marie Curie's Private Site Fundraising team to assist in raising awareness and vital funds for the charity. The charity: Marie Curie offer expert care, guidance and support to help anyone suffering from a terminal illness, and their families. They provide both practical and emotional support through the services of their nine hospices, nurses and helper volunteers at the heart of communities around the UK. By joining Marie Curie, you will be a part of one of the industry's largest and most successful in-house fundraising teams. The role: You will be engaging with members of the public in various pre-arranged locations within surrounding areas. For example, a shopping mall, leisure centre or hospital. In these venues you will be talking to them about the charity and asking them to get involved by signing up to a monthly direct debit donation. You must be a car owner and hold a full valid UK driving licence and have business use car insurance as this role will involve regular travel to different venues throughout your local area. Hours and pay: Working as a fundraiser is a fulfilling role which will allow you to make a difference in many people's lives. But that's not all - in return for your fantastic work you will receive a whole host of benefits as follows: - Part time and full time hours available with multiple shifts - £9.50 to £13.00 per hour (depending on experience and length of service) - Travel time will be paid for, and you will receive 25p mileage - Accrued holiday pay - Weekly pay - Working in a fun and supportive environment with plenty of progression opportunities Our expectations: We are looking for someone with strong ethos, character and spark who can take initiative to approach and engage with people and show resilience when faced with rejection. If you have a background in fundraising, sales or promotions, this could be just the role for you.
