Overview

Our client, a leading company in the poultry sector, is looking for Maintenance Engineer to join the existing team in their Hatchery division. You will be responsible for ensuring all company mechanical equipment and building fabric is fully maintained and repairs are carried out in a timely manner. The main accountabilities and responsibilities for the role are: - Ensure all required records are kept up to date Carry out routine alarm and system back up checks to an agreed timetable Keep accurate usage and stock records to ensure replenishment orders are placed Assist in organising and maintaining full Engineering and Alarm Cover Assist in arranging and organising contractors, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities under Health and Safety Be aware of Health and Safety standards and requirements, including Risk Assessments and COSHH, ensuring full implementation is practiced Ensure that all Codes of Practice are adhered to Undertake any other duties as required to fulfil the needs of the position Attend training courses which are determined as appropriate by the Company The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and experience: - A Mechanical and Electrical qualification with considerable experience in an operational engineering role. Organised and detailed approach to duties Ability to prioritise duties/tasks Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative Able to be flexible to the needs of the Hatchery Working hours are 07.30 – 17.00 Monday to Saturday (5 days out of 6) You also be on call one Sunday every four weeks.
