Residential Support Worker Various locations available Cardiff | Rhondda | Swansea etc £16,900 - £18,300 per annum (depending on experience) Our client is currently looking for multiple Residential Support Workers to work in their residential children’s homes in various locations across South & South East Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children and make a real difference in their lives. PLEASE NOTE: For this role you must have a minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 3 Health & Social care for Children & Young people . (Level 3 Health & social care for Adults is not suitable) Some of the duties of a Residential Support Worker: · To provide a caring and supportive environment for young people that respects all lifestyle and cultural needs · To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person · To ensure the rights and needs of the young people are met as fully as possible whether emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural or social and to promote and maintain positive anti-discrimination practices · Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people that will promote their sense of security · To ensure that appropriate medical help is provided in cases of illness and accidents · To promote the development of a healthy lifestyle for young people · To organise and participate in group activities · To assist in the provision and preparation of meals in the home · To undertake and promote domestic duties in the home and ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the home and grounds · To encourage young people to develop their full educational and vocational attainment As a potential residential support worker, you will have: · NVQ or QCF Level 3 Health & Social care for Children & Young People (CYP) · Some previous experience working with children with difficult behaviours in a residential setting · Knowledge of basic principles of the Children’s Act 1989 · Knowledge of Child Protection and National Minimum standards Already a Residential Support Worker and looking to advance to a senior position?
