Mechanical Engineer - Wrexham Salary: £30k - £35k The Company: Our client is a specialist in the PVC industry with many decades of success. Due to expansion and growth, a vacancy now exists for a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join other team members working at one of their bases, in Wrexham. This is a fulltime position. The Role: As a successful Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the heavy machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in our manufacturing, engineering and production processes. The core activities will include conducting periodic maintenance checks, planning equipment upgrades and machinery modifications, identifying faults, investigating equipment breakdowns, and monitoring the performance of equipment after repairs have been carried-out. You will ensure that: • You maintain a high level of health and safety whilst at work. • You take care of your own health and safety as well as that of your fellow workers by working in a tidy considerate manner. Role Responsibility: Ability to form effective working relationships and maintain good communication at all levels. Service and maintain mechanical equipment, repairing and responding to breakdowns, ensuring faults are diagnosed. Ensuring that fixtures, fitting, components are acquired in the best quality Stocks of supplies and equipment are managed Maintenance procedures are created/adhered to Apply knowledge and design testing methods for different pieces of equipment Estimate project timescales, as well as material, construction and labour costs Attend educational/technical training and workshops to maintain professional knowledge where applicable Ensure work schedules are planned around structured shifts, preventative maintenance schedules Demonstrable reliability in terms of attendance, time-keeping and quality of work Develop relationships with key supplier and specialist engineering companies Work alongside an electrical engineer to increase machine uptime Ensuring machinery and equipment meets safety regulations and is in good order Checking repaired components and machinery to ensure normal functionality has been restored Essential Skills & Requirements: A proven record in safe operations, whilst delivering consistent throughout targets and quality standards; identifying day-to-day mechanical faults issues and taking corrective and preventive action Clear communications and understanding of basic operational instructions (both written and oral) Experience of either PVC recycling and/or extrusion A relevant approved qualification in mechanical engineering Knowledge of how mechanical systems and equipment work Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schemes Manual skills necessary to carry out maintenance operations Ability to use maintenance software and electronic management systems Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to intervene promptly and efficiently, where required Reliability and flexibility Ability to act swiftly and efficiently Company Responsibilities: Value diversity and promote equality Share the company vision, mission and values, behaviours and communicate them effectively Participate in Staff Reviews and Professional Development activities, and be actively involved in the Company’s culture of high expectation Maintain continuous communication Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
