Cummins in Darlington have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Material Expeditor to join their team. This role enjoys a salary range of £31,551 - £33,212 Cummins Darlington Engine Plant produces an extensive range of high quality Midrange engines, supplying more than 200 customers in over 40 countries across the globe. We are a truly international business, whose products are used for a variety of applications in key Automotive, Industrial, Power Generation, Mining, Construction and Rail markets. We seek an individual to work within Darlington Material Planning team. Key responsibility to ensure optimum flow of material to enable planning, building and shipping of engines to meet customer requirements. Effective scheduling of material through MRP and expedite processes. Ensure schedules are maintained and reviewed regularly with feedback of information to Production Control and Customer Services through expedite process. Support material review of planned engines to lineset for production process. Responsible for on time delivery of suppliers of high performing suppliers/low premium freight risk to ensure DEP production is uninterrupted and Customers are not impacted by supply related issues. Work with Global supply base on a daily basis. It is important to build relationships and understand cultural differences. Support COS principle of Treating Suppliers as partners. Liaise with Transport Providers and other Cummins entities for resolution of short term gaps in supply. Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels, both externally and internally in relation to material supply issues and co-ordinate means of resolution. Required Qualifications: - 3 A- Levels or equivalent qualifications are essential. - Relevant Degree preferred, or relevant experience in a Materials Expeditor or Logistics role.
