We are now working in partnership with an international manufacturer who are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer who has an electrical bias. The repair and maintenance of complex machinery and modern production equipment and associated plant, supporting Site Services requirements and new equipment/machine installations. The site has a number of CNC installations and knowledge of a combination of electronics, AC Invertors, computerised control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) - FANUC based, together with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, will be necessary within the role. Salary and Benefits Salary/Pay scales ranges between £27 -34.5k DOE inclusive of shift premium (2 cycle rotation) Overtime premiums Annual Leave 25 days a year 8 recognised public holidays each year Pension – Employee min contribution 3%, Employer 6% (on basic pay) Life Assurance (3 x basic salary) Company Sick Pay scheme (after qualifying period) Plant Wide Bonus scheme (discretionary – non contractual) In addition to the above the role includes the following company benefits; Skills / Qualifications / Experience Time-served EITB Electrical / Electronic Apprenticeship and/or City & Guilds Part 3 in Electrical Engineering 18th Edition Knowledge and experience of working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), ideally Mitsubishi and Siemens S7 Experience of working with CNC installations Previous experience of working with TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) systems. Ability to troubleshoot quickly in a breakdown situation and identify cause of breakdown Previous experience of working in a production/manufacturing environment IT proficiency. Desirable Formal educational qualification Ability to programme PLC’s Previous exposure to a multi-skilled role involving a need for involvement in mechanical processes would be advantageous Flexibility to support operational needs Safety-consciousness approach to work environment Practical and Pro-active Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Able to follow instructions and produce work to a high standard Clean driving licence required Key Responsibilities Adherence to all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and associated company standards. Maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping practices. Involvement of all aspects of the site’s electrical maintenance and repair requirements, including mechanical processes, fault-finding and fabrication. Ability to troubleshoot quickly in a breakdown situation and identify cause of breakdown. Support the site’s TPM programme. Maintain and replenish spares store, including identifying spares via online supplier websites as and when required and in line with company procedures. Work collaboratively with other operational and engineering staff and teams as and when required. Support and contribute to COS/Kaizen and improvement activities across the business.
