Overview

We are recruiting for a Freight organisation based in Colnbrook and they are seeking a Freight Operative to work within Air & Ocean Freight Warehouse Operations to carry out all warehouse and driving duties in line with operational requirements in order to maintain, enhance and improve service levels. To screen and X-Ray all goods as required and in line with legal compliance, ensuring all processes and procedures are followed exactly. Salary up to £27,000 per annum dependant on experience Main Duties and Responsibilities: · Screening and X-Ray of all goods as required in line with legal compliance. Completion of documentation as required · Load/unload vehicles, including accurate completion of paperwork · To assist as required with the receipt, checking and dispatch of all goods which pass through the warehouse or are handled by the Company · This role requires the candidate to have a full clean driving license, as it requires making local deliveries and collections in the company vehicle as and when the business requires. · Sortation of orders, ensuring accuracy of paperwork · General warehouse duties. · Housekeeping of warehouse and yard · Matching deliveries with dockets · Scanning and recording of freight · Completion of tasks as set by Operations Manager · Immediate reporting of any damages to management team · Palletising and wrapping of goods · Ensure daily forklift truck checks are completed and appropriate documentation completed · Completion of all other equipment checks · Manual Handling · Observe Health and Safety regulations at all times · Air cargo security screening via X-Ray & ETD methods · Perform deliveries to the airline warehouses at London Heathrow as required Key Experience & Other Requirements: · Proven experience of driving a Forklift Truck and use of other MHE - A counterbalance forklift operator’s license is essential · Must possess a full, clean UK driving license · Basic knowledge of computerised inventory systems, warehouse functions and MS Office (Excel) · Excellent attention to detail · Relevant experience within a warehouse environment · Knowledge of health and safety rules · Self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team · Strong communication skills both written and verbal · Knowledge/familiarity of delivery documentation/paperwork · Physically fit and able · AVSEC qualified (desirable) · Prior experience is cargo security screening (essential) This job was originally posted as www.caterer.com/job/89793364
