Position: Supervisor Salary: £14 - £15 per hour Benefits: 20-25 days holiday (dependant on service) Statutory Free Parking Kitchen Facilities Early Friday Finishes Overtime available at peak times Job Type: Full-time Hours: Monday - Friday (1pm Finishes on Friday) - Overtime available at peak times Location: Oldham Description: Our client is one of the biggest sheet metal subcontractors in the North West operating from a 150000sqft state of the art modern facility, just off junction 21, M60. Their equipment is the latest and finest available in the Industry providing their customers with a one-stop-shop solution supplying product painted and assembled product. They are busy all year round and supply into various sectors including Retail, Aerospace, Lighting, Electronics and many more. They are looking for a confident and energetic Supervisor who can "grab the bull by the horns" and grow their department to its full potential. You must have at least two years' experience in a similar role (please do not apply if you don't). All our staff will receive over 50 hours training during 2020 to accelerate Growth supporting ever increasing Customer Demand. A great investment in you and our Business. The Role: Responsible for a team of 4 you ensure products are assembled to drawing and to the highest possible Quality Standard. You ensure stock is managed and appropriately booked into our ERP system and ensure goods are shipped out on time. You strive to reduce shipping cost though Continuous Improvement and through negotiating best possible pricing with forwarders. You implement and apply 5S and coach your team ensuring 5S is Sustained. You are a Safety champion and your working day is prioritised in SQCDG order. You own the site's Delivery metric and will report progress monthly during our Monthly Operating Reviews. Your Skillset: Safety: Ensures PPE is worn and in good condition, work area is kept tidy, applies 5S, attends H&S meetings and contributes ideas to Improve Safety, drives a Safe working environment and coaches' employees, conducts 5S audits and 5S GEMBA. Quality: Drives down COPQ, Read and coach technical Drawings, Paperwork control, Hold Toolbox meetings. Cost: Monitor Operator Clocking, Drive Continuous Improvement, Manage TPM in Section. Growth: Participate in training programs, Coach Operators, Conduct Inductions, Supports and Promotes Business Mission, Follow Daily Standard Work, Maintains/Owns training plan for section, Develop Daily Standard work for section. Lean: Maintains and Owns section metrics, Manage TPM for section, Applies Problem Solve Tools, Coach and train team on Lean tools. About Our Client & What They Offer: They Operate 4 Supervisor Salary bands which are currently set at Band 1 - (Junior Supervisor), Band 2 - (Chargehand), Band 3 - (Supervisor), Band 4 (Sr. Supervisor). This role they are recruiting for is a Supervisor in Band 3 or 4. They want to hear from candidates possessing all or most of the skillsets listed above. There are opportunities to develop within the business. Our client is flexible for example if you need to go to the doctor, as long as you make the time up this isn't an issue - Immediate start available - 4 weeks probationary period at band 2 (£12.89 per hour).
