DRIVER TRAINER Fixed term contract for 2 years with the potential to become permanent Based at the DSFRS Academy, Exeter Airport, Exeter 37 hours per week Salary: Grade 5/6 (based on experience and qualifications) Grade 5 commencing Salary: £26317 per annum; Grade 6 commencing salary: £30507 per annum. Closing Date: 9am on Monday 30 March 2020. Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service are seeking to appoint a Driver Trainer on a Fixed Term Contract for a period of two years with the potential for this role to become permanent. Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service offers a range of driver training courses for Firefighters, Fire Officers and other customers including emergency response and off road 4x4 driving. Relevant training will be given to the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be part of a busy driver training team and will be required to demonstrate: A proven ability to translate practical experience into the training environment Effective communication skills both verbal and written A good working knowledge of Road Traffic legislation Experience of working within a training role together with experience in developing and delivering Driver Training courses A good working knowledge of Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) The ability to work both as a member of a team and as an individual A knowledge of blue light driving is desirable.
