Quality Inspector / NDT Operator Job Location: New Milton, Hampshire Job Type: Permanent Salary: £15 - £16 per hour Hours:37 hours per week As a specialist manufacturer of machined parts within the nuclear and aerospace industries, we are now looking for an experienced Quality Inspector / NDT Operator to join the team who will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of quality are maintained through the production process. We are looking for an individual who has previous experience within a similar role using a variety of testing techniques -Visual, CMM, Hardness & Conductivity.Previous experience with NDT (PFD) is highly desirable but for the right candidate training will be provided. Working hours are 7.45am – 4.15pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 7.45am – 12.45pm (37 hours per week) Your main duties will include: · Inspect, test and validate raw materials, processed, machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products to ensure compliance to specifications during manufacture and at final assembly stage · Use of various techniques including visual, CMM, Hardness and Conductivity, tensile test etc; (Training will be given) · Identify defects, foreign object damage/debris (FOD) and transit damage · Report any non-conformities to the Chief Inspector or Quality Manager for investigation (an understanding or use of 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis is useful) · Document inspection results as required by internal procedures & record on internal MRP system · Maintain a safe place of work, complying with legal and internal regulations for example the use of PPE The ideal candidate will possess: · Minimum of 4 years’ experience within a quality assurance role · The ability to interpret technical drawings · Detailed knowledge of quality principles and adhering to stringent standards of quality. · Knowledge and understanding of First Article Inspection (AS9102), · Knowledge of APQP/PPAP. (Training will be given). · Knowledge of manufacturing methodologies and processes. · Computer literate (specific training will be given). · Excellent coordination, communication, time management skills and the ability to prioritise. · Ability to work as a team and also be self motivated.
