IT Senior Infrastructure Engineer FTC / Southend-on-Sea / £44,632 Your new company Southend Borough Council is a unitary authority based in the heart of the town centre offering traditional seaside living that makes it a great place to live and work. The Council are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and innovative Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract to be part of the wider Infrastructure and Operations department. Your new role As Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will hold a senior technical position within the ICT team providing expertise across Infrastructure services for Southend-on-Sea council. Your technical knowledge and skills will be utilised to provide daily support and management of the Council's hosting cloud and end-user ensuring the IT infrastructure remains safe, secure and robust. The council are currently planning and installing new services directly linked with their IT Infrastructure and these new services and new technologies will need to be supported effectively. This exciting new job opportunity is a varied role which will encompass strong technical knowledge. Your typical day will see you drive improvement, proactively maintain, administer and configure operating systems. What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this position, you will have proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with a track record of effective collaborative working. You will be proficient in Cloud hosting environments such as MS Azure, Connectivity and possess expert knowledge across primary infrastructure towers such as Cisco networks, Active Directory, Intune, O365, storage and compute such as VMWare. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills coupled with your proven ability to simplify and improve IT Infrastructure landscapes and experience of delivering technical change, leading technical resources and contributing to the architectural vision will see you succeed within this role.
