Overview
Your new company This multi-disciplinary consultancy is a small but busy business, working across multiple sectors including; commercial, healthcare, education, retail and residential. They offer a wide range of services which include architectural design, project management, CDM services, H&S and Building Surveying. The building surveying element of the business has not been as productive as it should have been over the years, mainly because it hasn't had the focus it needed from the right individual, it currently only accounts for 10% of the overall company turnover. The MD has decided to invest in moving the division forward and rather than try to develop it himself, he wants a more appropriate individual to come on board to grow and build their presence in the market place, as well as grow the team. Not only will you be given full autonomy to move the division forward as you see fit, you will also be 2nd in command to the MD and over time be given more control over time due to a recent acquisition of another business, meaning the MD will focus on that business whilst you will manage the overall business. Your new role In the role of the Director, you will be tasked with growth and profitability of the division. The role will be split with business development, fee income and management as well as being a bit hands on as the growth of the division takes place. The business is currently 14 people strong, but the MD has a growth plan in place and a wants the surveying division to have a larger part of the financial turnover. What you'll need to succeed In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following; knowledge of preparing fee proposals, H&S legislation and CDM Regulations, experience in Management of Small to Medium sized projects. You will need to have proven experience as a Director or Senior Manager, you will need to be hold MRICS or FRICS status and ideally experience more suited to commercial sectors. What you'll get in return As part of the package for this role, you can expect a salary of up to £70k along with a 22 days holiday bank holidays, professional fees paid for, pension options, death in service, healthcare. They also can accommodate flexible working arrangements and overtime can become a shareholder. The business operates a relaxed office approach, unless you have client meetings, business attire is not essential - smart casual is fine.
