Assistant Buyer, reputable main contractor Your new company This well-established build contractor are experiencing a period of controlled, risk adverse growth and need to strengthen the current pre construction team to ensure client expectations continue to be met to the high standards they have held for the last 40 years. They work with a regional focus of c90 miles from Bristol and cover all sectors of the construction industry. Your new role As an Assistant Buyer you will be office based and support the procurement function reporting to the Senior Buyer. Your main role will include negotiation and cost management, managing deadlines, reviewing drawings & specifications, an awareness of supply chain, and general support of preconstruction, finance, commercial and site management teams. What you'll need to succeed For the best chance of success with this role you will have previous experience in a buying / procurement / supply chain / industry related role. Strong communication, negotiation skills, IT Literate and an awareness of budgetary constraints are key. Construction industry experience is advantageous.
