Prison opportunity Your new company As one of the agency suppliers to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit Operational Support Grades (shift work). This is a long-term contract role for H.M.P Bullingdon with the possibility of a permanent contract. These roles are in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally. Your new role Main duties of this role will be to work within the security department of the public sector organisation, working on a shift pattern basis. This will involve working 5 of the 7 days per week and will include some weekend work. Responsibility will include manning the gatehouse, checking in visitors for staff, escorting visitors around the establishment, working in the mail room checking post, assisting on prison wings when required, working in stores and generally assisting in any departments as and when required. What you'll need to succeed You will be required to have an enhanced security clearance carried out by the organisation to ensure you are able to work on site. The security clearance will require you to have photo ID such as a valid passport or photo card driving licence What you'll get in return Full training is provided but it would be beneficial to have prior experience of security, using radios and handling multiple keys for one site. A uniform is also provided.
