Having the largest neurosciences unit in London means we're able to carry out advanced spinal surgery, intracranial and peripheral nerve surgery as well as pioneering neurosurgery. Job Description: The post-holder is responsible and accountable for providing high quality clinical assistance to the Surgeon during surgical procedures. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. You would be working to prepare equipment and instruments according to the individual needs of the patient and Surgeon, as well as involvement with the updating of Surgeon preference cards. This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week - working a mixture of earlies and long days, Across Monday - Saturday, with the facility opening between 06:00 - 22:00. We offer a salary of between £32,270 - £35,855 and is dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities: Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluation of peri-operative patient care Working with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team following local protocols and standards Awareness of the effective management of resources within the department Ensure all equipment is checked prior to use and any faults reported to the Theatre Co-ordinator immediately Help to control cross infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures and asepsis Prepare patients for clinical/ operative procedures Provide assistance in clinical/ operative procedures Provide initial emergency care as required Skills & Experience: RGN or registered OPD Experience in Scrub - General/Plastics Evidence of on-going professional development Advanced Life Support (desirable) About The Individual: At HCA UK we recognise and value everyone as unique and individual; treat people with kindness and compassion; act with absolute honesty, integrity, and fairness and trust and treat one another as valued members of the HCA UK family.
