Overview
We are looking for Java Software Engineers to join a fast growing start up business based in Bristol within their DevOps team that follow agile extreme programming. This company could look at very experienced engineers, or people with 1 year in industry looking for something more challenging. We are hiring engineers who are capable of working in an agile manner in a cross functional team. This team is crucial to the growth of the company and need to be able to react and solve problems in a live changing environment. The team is engineer led and the engineering team currently have two main focuses, Dev and Ops. The Dev weighted engineers are building the internal micro service architecture to expose core data to the business through APIs and UIs. This is all about refactorable, reliable, safer code. Everything is Test Driven (TDD). The Ops weighted engineers, manage the services and network infrastructure. The team are working towards a fully automated deployment and management regime, with the core configuration facets managed centrally in a graph database and exposed restfully, and the systems infrastructure automated so that monitoring and configuration change management is rigorous, repeatable and "test driven". We are looking for the type of person who doesn't want to be given a job description but given work to do and problems to solve, and if you don't know how to solve something you want to find out how. Skills we are looking for include; You are experienced with one or more "agile" working practices, such as Refactoring, Pairing, and Continuous integration Test first development experience as an approach to TDD/BDD Have delivered solutions using a variety of languages and architectures Extensive experience with JVM languages such as Java/Groovy Working with messaging architectures It would be a bonus if you also have experience in the following; Graph Databases NoSQL Ansible Puppet Chef Network Infrastructure and Protocols Continuous Delivery GoLang RabbitMQ If this sounds of interest please send in your most up to date and relevant CV ASAP to be considered.
