Overview
Due to our client winning high amounts of work for CP6 we are looking for a signalling principle designer. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join their signalling design office and work with one latest signalling equipment on the market, and be part of a growing team with a great working ethos. Working for one of the biggest contractors in the rail sector globally, you will be responsible for producing and delivering and safety-related signalling designers at principle and system level.Working alongside some of the best signalling designers in the industry, you will be an integral part of the team, where you will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge but also showcasing your talent to others. Our client has won multiple framework projects throughout CP6 so you can be sure that you will always be put to a challenge. We are looking for a Signalling Principal Designer who is looking to further their career, with progression key for our client we are looking for a career-driven individual who is ready for the next step.As a Signalling Principal Designer are responsible for the following:Producing safety-related Signalling design deliverables at a principle and system level in accordance with project program, budgetary and technical requirementsProducing safety-related Signalling design deliverables at a principle and system level in accordance with appropriate railway standards, technical constraints, health and safety legislation, company procedures, CDM Regulations, and CSM proceduresDevelopment of generic design solutions to meet Signalling requirementsSupport the Responsible Engineer with the identification of operational risks, construction risk, maintenance risk and system risk within designEnsuring the quality of all Signalling Design deliverables at a principle levelIdentify best practice signalling processes as part of a continual improvement plan to increase efficiency and minimise cost of non-quality and technical / delivery riskLeading small design teams and the production of design packagesIdentifying and communicating any perceived shortcomings in Health and Safety arrangements, situations or processes that are considered to be serious or which may present dangers to yourself or othersWorking on safety-critical or safety-related activities only where this complies with relevant competence or authority to work, or implementing and documenting a robust mentorship plan. Essential: Application of Signalling Design Process at a principle and system levelApplication of CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations)Application of the RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board)Application of Network Rail Standards (or equivalent)Application of risk assessmentsKnowledge of CSM (Common Safety Method)Awareness of railway construction methods and materials on complex projectsComputer skills including CADAble to produce electrical and electronic circuits, data sheets and specificationsTime management and timekeepingManagement of task prioritiesAbility to build and maintain constructive relationships with customers and colleagues Qualifications 1.1.550 IRSE Signalling Principles Designer Licence We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
