Strategic Buyer

The Permanent Division of Macildowie Procurement are working alongside a market leading firm based in Leighton Buzzard to recruit for a Strategic Buyer. The Successful candidate will receive a salary of up to £40,000 per annum and will report directly into the Supply Chain Manager. The duties of the Strategic Buyer will include: - Developing strategies to identify cost reduction opportunities - Working with suppliers to negotiate product rates and draft final agreements - Leading and supporting on a number of cost saving initiatives - Working with suppliers to identify and reduce product cost but maintain a high quality standard - Ensuring suppliers agree to and are compliant with contractual agreements - Ensuring suppliers are capable of supplying the organisation so support their production needs - Working with tactical teams to ensure supplier performance is aligned to contractual agreements - Identify supply risks and develop strategies and improvement opportunities - Develop new supply sources and agrees procurement strategies that are aligned with individual projects - Increase procurement efficiency by identifying and implementing new process and procedures - Ad hoc duties when required The Ideal Strategic Buyer will: - Be educated to degree level or hold professional qualifications - Have experience within Material Management using systems such as SAP, MRP or other ERP's - Demonstrate sound knowledge of designing and implementing procurement strategies - Have proven experience within cost saving strategies - Have a strong understanding of drafting and creating contract terms - Have strong negotiation skills - Experience within project management would be advantageous.
