Electronic Development Engineer
Overview

The experience we are looking for is a candidate who has worked in the low power electronics industry and have experience of the following: · Design DC-DC converters and AC-DC converters for industrial, medical, and automotive applications. Taking responsibility for development of the product from concept to mass production. · Redesign legacy products to improve quality and reliability based on feedback from production and the customer. · Carry out detailed failure analysis, supporting the quality team to highlight design improvements. · Take an active role in performing verification and validation tests. Guaranteeing the product meets the converters specification and the company’s reliability targets. · Solve complex technical/commercial issues, working closely with all engineering disciplines within the company. Applicants must have these essential skills or competencies · A formal qualification equivalent to a UK degree level in electronics, physics or a related discipline. Candidates with a HND or HNC in Electronics (or a related discipline) will also be considered if they have relevant experience. · 2/3 years’ experience of electronics design, preferably power conversion. · Have a sound theoretical understanding of analogue electronics and magnetics. · Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to form logical conclusions. · An understanding of best practices related to mechanical design considerations within the electronics industry. · Have experience of conducting laboratory based testing and have an understanding of measurement techniques. · Experience designing electronic components for volume manufacture. · Possesses an aptitude to lead a team to deliver projects in a defined timescales.
