Overview
Senior Java Developer require to perform Support and Development tasks. Working for Global Investment Management Group. Skills Required • Continuous Delivery • Coding best practises • Qualitative measures of code and Technical Debt • Agile methodology (Scrum) • Software testing principles • Technical specialism within the Team’s selection of technology • Software Architecture • Information Security • Data design • Demonstrated ability to estimate the time taken to carry out large-scale development activities tasks, and meet the time estimated • Ability to break down Epics and Stories Development Tasks • Show that they can evolve an initial user design or wireframe from an analyst and turn it into a lower level component design and task plan • Must be able to demonstrate a collaborative approach with all members of the team Essential Skills • Strong Java skills (Java 8) • Linux and networking fundamentals • Experience of containerisation, ideally using Docker • Experience of continuous integration tooling, ideally using Jenkins, Maven, Nexus & SonarQube • Experience with AWS; EC2, RDS(Aurora), Elasticache and other managed services • An appreciation of Java / JVM-based application internals and debugging • Monitoring with Prometheus & Grafana or similar • Experience across the entire stack: hardware, application and network. • Experience with continuous deployment Desired Skills • Supplementary languages (.NET, Python, Go, Julia) • Knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes and Openshift • Experience of agile software development methodologies and environments • Distributed Tracing • SQL and database tuning & troubleshooting (pref PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server) For full details please contact Katie Collins.
