Digital & IT Architecture are responsible for the review, evaluation and design of the technology and infrastructure that supports the ICO in achieving its goals, while transforming the ICO’s ways of working and providing its staff with the tools and technology that they’d expect from a modern, tech savvy regulator. About the role This role is the senior Network and Security role within the ICO. Working with the ICO’s internal Digital & IT Services team as well as their managed service partners, this role is instrumental in delivering the ICO’s Digital Transformation Roadmap, improving services for the ICO’s staff and customers. This role will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in all aspects of the ICOs network, firewall and proxy infrastructure, helping identify and resolve issues while evaluating new technologies and developing roadmaps to help the ICO modernise its infrastructure to support an agile, cloud and government hub focussed future. This is an opportunity to work in a fast paced, family friendly organisation, where you will be supported and developed in your chosen specialism, the wider Digital & IT leadership teams and the ICO as a whole. About you You will be a network expert, with demonstrable experience in physical network infrastructure, ideally Cisco, Juniper and Fortigate. You will have proven skills in network design and implementation; including: IP addressing schemes, DHCP, Switching and Routing , Remote access, ACLs and MPLS infrastructure. Experience in Meraki Wi-Fi and cloud based networking is preferred but not essential. Previous experience in the public sector or a regulated environment would be beneficial. You will be a team player, working with the Digital & IT team across a variety of activities, providing leadership and mentoring in your areas of expertise to allow the wider team to benefit from your knowledge and experience.
