Job Introduction Are you looking for a job where you can really make a difference? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated support worker to join the team at this service providing support for adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs. Our main priority, therefore, is to find support workers with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own. Clareville House is a supported living supporting adults aged 18 with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, complex needs including behaviours that may challenge and/or epilepsy. People are supported with person centred plans that focus on positive outcomes and aim to help the individual become as independent as possible Your duties will be varied and no two days will be the same. You'll be providing support for day-to-day living, such as social activities, sports and hobbies, employment, holidays etc along with support with general household duties such as cooking, cleaning and money management. In some services, you may be required to undertake personal care. Our services operate 24/7, so you will work in shifts (as allocated by your manager). This means you may need to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You may also be required to undertake sleep-in shifts on a rota basis. The Ideal Candidate We believe that a successful Support Worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals. Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must. An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker. Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.
