Overview

To design and detail Bailey rainscreen cladding products for projects, including:- Drawing general arrangement layouts and detail sections, concept details and manufacturing drawings and schedules. General arrangement drawings produced using AutoCad 2D and 3D software such as Revit, Solidworks or Solid Edge for manufacturing models and drawings. Maintain strict issue protocol with effective use of registers, revision control and 3rd party online portals. Ensure detailing is robust to latest industry standards and local authority regulations, work to the latest revisions of issued information at all times, gain client approval, record all design changes, work to agreed programmes, work in a timely and accurate fashion and within an agreed service level structure. • To design and detail Bailey products, using 3D BIM compatible software and/or 2D AutoCad • Use Bailey standard product range where ever possible or adapt as necessary with in the company guidelines to suit bespoke projects. • To take full ownership of the design of the project, through GA preparation and issue, client approval, full manufactures drawings and schedules for the issue to production. • Liaise with technical manager and account managers to obtain clear specifications. • Create detailed CAD drawings for production, utilise Bailey standard details as much as possible. • 3D model components for manufacture and export as .step files. • Create a 3D assembly model for rainscreen areas, corners and complex junctions to check for interface suitability. • Create detailed CAD installation drawings for onsite work showing datums and setting out points. • Liaise with Production Manager to understand needs of fabrication • Solve fabrication problems • Continuously look for and suggest ways to improve the process • Follow Bailey quality control procedures • Promote and maintain Health and Safety across projects, teams and business. Other duties requested by management in support of the Bailey team. Candidate requirements • 2D CAD experience • 3D software experience • Understanding of information traceability and responsibility, client approval process and formal DO document control. • Several years CAD experience in a Rainscreen cladding / sheet fabrication environment or manufacturing role. • Methodical and organised • Excellent attention to detail • Good communication skills, especially in writing (email) and on phone • Builds relationships with internal and external contacts • Willing and able to take the initiative and solve fabrication problems • Responsible, dynamic personality, wishing to make a vocational contribution to the company they join. • Comfortable complying with procedures • Good fabrication production knowledge Desirables • Experience with Autodesk Products, Revit, Inventor, Solid Edge and AutoCad • Experience with Solidworks 3D software. • Radan sheet metal software experince is desirable, though training can be provided. • Fabrication skills (welding, forming etc) 3 most important requirement 1.
