Overview
Highbridge Resourcing are a specialist Social Care agency working with a leading Children's care provider. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Support Worker to work with 16-18 year olds in Weston Super Mare. You will be responsible for working with a team of support workers to deliver 1-2-1 support in independent living accommodation. The service supports young people that require 24 hour independent living support so you will be required to work any number of shifts which are long days - this is a 15 hour shift plus a sleep in. The role is available on a part time or full time basis. You will provide support and independent living skills by utilising your skills and training. As a children's support worker you will be responsible for the physical and mental wellbeing of the individual, whilst having an understanding and non-judgemental attitude. Your duties may include: Providing a high standard of support Promoting and encouraging independent living Supporting and encouraging children to engage with employers, education centres etc Supporting with behavioural issues The ideal candidate will: • Have a care certificate • Be a driver with access to own transport • Have at least 6 months paid experience in children's/young people or similar support worker role • Have excellent communication skills – written and verbal • Be motivated, flexible, and reliable • A current DBS or happy to undertake a new one If successful, due to the nature of the role, you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS and provide references along with completing an application form.
