Physiotherapist - Stroke

Physiotherapist - Stroke Hays Healthcare are currently working with a leading private organisation to recruit an experienced Physiotherapist to join them on a full/part-time basis across Sheppey & Gravesend. The role involves working as an autonomous practitioner within a multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist assessment and treatment of patients who have had a Stroke. Responsibilities of the role includes; To empower patients to remain central to the decision making regarding their own care and encourage self-management as appropriate. To support and supervise junior staff within the Stroke Team. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of clinical risk within own patient caseload. To be clinically responsible for patients accepted on to the caseload and to organise this with regards to clinical priorities, evidence-based practice, ensuring the most efficient use of skills time and resources. To undertake assessment of patients who have had a stroke including those with complex presentations. To use sound clinical reasoning skills to agree therapeutic goals, implementation of a specialist therapy programme, evaluation of outcome measures and appropriate discharge planning. To use sound clinical reasoning skills and broad specialist knowledge of treatment expertise and evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes as required. To assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain and document valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment. In order to be considered for this role; you must have a valid HCPC registration alongside recent experience as a qualified Physiotherapist.
