Overview

Main functions of the job The primary functions of the role are: • To support the Sage X3 software at End User, Administration and Development levels across all 14 sites • To develop new routines / procedures and processes in and around X3 for a variety of departments across group • To document procedures / processes based on investigative work with currently unused areas within X3 • General IT support across the group • A key focus for the job is to enhance and increase X3 knowledge and procedures while also reducing IT support overheads to enable more R&D to be completed within the IT department. Main duties/responsibilities Sage ERP X3 • General day to day support of user issues across the multi legislation environment • Working closely with key people in each site to develop new procedures or test and document existing procedures • Develop and enhance key reporting, using Sage SEI, Crystal Reports and ODBC downloads • Alongside the IT Manager, where required, research and develop new procedures, technologies to overcome specific workflow problems • To ensure that the X3 systems operate and perform as required across all sites • Where required, out of hours support for group companies who could be in different time zones • Working with ancillary software and technologies such as Sage SEI, Infor CRM, Web and XML to help key users develop X3 connected requirements • Where required, researching potential new software and reporting these findings back to the Group IT Manager. Microsoft SQL server • Maintain and support of user data across multiple systems, including re-indexing databases, maintaining integrity and managing storage • Where required, develop new database structures and integrations, including new tables, views, triggers and stored procedures. General • To understand and to comply with the company’s health and safety policy • To interact with users at all levels of the business, including Managers and Directors • Where required, to travel to other sites to facilitate local support or upgrades • General day to day support and understanding of servers and their operating systems will be required • Opportunities to become involved in other IT areas such as web development, programming etc • Any other duties commensurate with the level of the job, which may be required from time to time by the business.
