Overview
A great opportunity to provide therapeutic residential support to children who have suffered trauma. These positions will suit people who are energetic with a positive outlook, and aspire to supporting children and young people through their journey to being confident, independent and happy adults. Role and Responsibilities To actively participate in the development of a therapeutic environment and ensure that the highest standards of care are provided for each young person To be a key worker to specific children and participate in the primary care and support for all children and young people with the home To maintain a high standard of record keeping and report writing To participate in the development of individual risk assessments, behaviour support and treatment plans To contribute to care planning, participating in reviews and other meetings as required, and to assist in the implementation of care plans To be alert to signs of distress or abuse, and to ensure that the young people are monitored and protected following safeguarding procedures Candidate Requirements Full driving licence Previous experience of supporting children with emotional behavioural difficulties in either a children's home, youth work, education setting or on a voluntary basis Able to work long-day 15 hour shifts (totalling 39 hours per week on average) including some weekend days and bank holidays on a rota basis and an average of two sleep ins per week A passion for working with disadvantaged children to improve their life chances Resilience to be able to firmly and fairly manage challenging behaviour and promote positive behaviour Salary and benefits £23,400 to £26,800 per year Excellent, in-depth 2 week induction and ongoing training Funding and support to attain a Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare if not yet attained Genuine career development opportunities through to senior and managerial levels as this organisation develops its services
