Overview

General Responsibility for various aspects of the IT architectural design. Ensuring that the architecture balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements, whilst supporting the implementation of the IT Strategies and best practice guidelines and methodologies. Manage the integrity and quality of the technology architecture by investigating proposals for new systems and producing judgements about whether they are compliant with the architecture and are secure and robust. To research, evaluate, test, configure and roll-out complex IT services and products to ensure that they operate reliably, securely, efficiently and meet the highest levels of availability. Requirements Education and Qualifications Degree in IT related subject or equivalent Technical certification - MCSE or similar MS Azure and/or Office 365 certifications ( desirable ) Post 1: Experience and Knowledge Practical and theoretical experience of infrastructure technologies and systems including Windows 10, Active Directory, Windows Server, VMWare, Citrix, SAN technologies plus cloud-based technologies such as Azure, AWS and Office 365. Post 2: : Experience and Knowledge Practical and theoretical experience of infrastructure technologies and systems including Windows 10, Active Directory, Profiles, Endpoint security plus cloud-based technologies such as Azure AD Connect, Office 365 E3 and EMS E3 – including Intune and AD Premium P1. Good knowledge of security products and architectures. Experience of integration between partners, between systems from different suppliers and between the client and its suppliers. Working with technology suppliers on products and services. Ability and Skills Plan & Implement new IT technologies, e.g. PC hardware and peripherals, desktop and office systems software, in line with the requirements of the Business and the corporate IT Strategy. Drive technical delivery and within IT projects ensuring transition to operations and full documentation. Ability to analyse complex issues and quickly identify possible solutions based on a sound analysis of the information available. Independently find solutions to problems, using theoretical know-how and experience, especially in situations requiring a significant degree of technical judgment. Must be skilled at working with multi-functional teams and building on the work of others in other parts of the organisation. Ability to analyse problems and produce a range of options, culminating in a preferred solution, where problems may be complex and multi-faceted, difficult to define and may have no perfect solution.
