Overview
As the R&D Technician you will provide key support to New Product Development or other R&D activities by executing routine and non-routine experiments and tasks with the guidance provided by R&D Senior Technology Engineer. You will be working with well know and house hold brands Client Details The client is part of a much larger global group and have recently been investing into their site in South Wales to expand their manufacturing capabilities and also bring new products to market. What you make at this site will be shipped globally. Description As the R&D Technician your key areas of focus will be: Collects, records, and transcribes routine and non-routine data. Performs routine and non-routine calculations; creates routine and non-routine tables, charts and graphs. Enters product information is business system (ie SAP) Uses appropriate materials and equipment and understands their principles of use or operation. Will perform fundamental tasks that include adding liquids to containers and placing in ovens and recording measurements on containers (typically plastic) to understand the container's compatibility with the liquid. Measurements include weight, dimensions (using calipers), and other visual observations include taking photos. Must effectively use computer for data entry and effectively use spreadsheets and summarise reports in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Must maintain safety and organisation of the lab. Profile The succesful R&D Technician will ideally have the following experience: At least one year of general science or engineering college course work or equivalent experience/education. A good fundamental understanding of higher level mathematics, mechanics, general science, and general computer applications including Microsoft office products Associate degree or higher in physical sciences (example: chemistry, physics) or engineering. At least two years of demonstrated related experience in a technical laboratory, industrial manufacturing, or similar environment. (can be from an academic setting) Job Offer A wage of £10.50 - £12 per hour depending on experience 37.5 hours per week on a 6 month contract.
