The business was born as a result of a huge question mark around what we do with our food waste and they've answered through creating an app that connects people locally to pick up food that would otherwise be thrown away. The business' team has grown massively since its humble beginnings just 4 years ago and has almost reached the 100 mark Born and bred (excuse the pun) in London, the app is now available all over the globe with thousands of volunteers to help pick up and drop off this food to people who need/want it. Despite this app ever-growing and moving from strength to strength, they're looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails developer to join their team. You'll be working closely with the other developers where you'll mainly be working on automating their 'volunteer platform' which is essentially a huge scheduling system that provides everything their food volunteers need, all 40,000 of them This could be organizing their shifts, training, and communication. This all used to be done manually, but as the company is growing (and so are the number of volunteers) it's becoming overwhelming so have decided to automate it. They're looking for someone who has strong Ruby on Rails development as well as having good infrastructure experience. Tech overview: Ruby on Rails - using 5.3 right now, but Rails 6 is pending. AWS Docker Redis Stripe The whole team works remotely but having met them all their bond and quality of work if anything is the strongest I've seen.
