Overview
Senior Subcontract Buyer Location: Luton Number of Hours: 37 hrs Pay rate: £34.14 per hour A global aerospace and defence organisation are looking for a Senior Subcontract Buyer to primarily focus on the management of direct sub-contract commitments, both tangible and intangible in their nature, mainly within the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase of the product lifecycle. The role holder will need to demonstrate successful subcontract management by developing robust contracts which mitigate commercial risk and address lifecycle factors whilst fostering and maintaining supplier relationships. Responsibilities - Senior Sub-Contract Buyer Performance of complex assignments requiring cross functional collaboration without supervision Promotes customer intimacy in both internal and external relationship Drives and leads strategies to influence business decisions throughout the project life cycle Identify solutions for complex areas of potential risk /opportunity e.g. sub-contract risk, liability and exchange rate exposure etc. and deliver solutions/mitigations Draft and prepare complex contract documentation using standard and non-standard formatsWorking cross functionally to review customer contracts to identify appropriate contractual flowdowns and ensure these are flowed down appropriately Lead the generation and review of 'appropriate' specifications and Statement of Work documents Construct and lead the contracts and supply chain management Life Cycle Management (LCM) deliverables An understanding of legal aspects and an ability to negotiate bespoke terms and conditions Management of Export Compliance, restrictions and third-party rights for all procured items and services Skills and Qualifications - Senior Subcontract Buyer Requires technical training to degree standard, professional qualification and/or significant domain experience A professional understanding of domain specific markets, products, customers and suppliers The ability to create beneficial relationships with cross-functional colleagues, customers and suppliers A good working knowledge and understanding of Procurement within the Defence/Aerospace industry (or a similar sector) A good understanding of the Commercial and Legal Aspects associated with contracting within the Defence/Aerospace industry (or a similar sector) A good understanding of Export Compliance associated with contracting within the Defence/Aerospace industry (or a similar sector) Click "Apply Now" to find out more
