Purchasing Assistant Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 3LP Salary: £22,000-£25,000, depending on experience Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm Mon-Thurs, 8-4pm Fridays About the Company: Our client is a family run business with 50 years' experience in the market. They transform a wide range of carton board and finishes that makes them a world class supplier of quality printed cartons to the fine fragrance, cosmetics and premium drinks markets. They are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Administrator to join their team. Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities: To assist the Purchasing manager in day-to-day purchasing requirements of products. Raise Purchase Orders to quantities as advised from the stock forecast requirements. Ensuring orders are placed in time to meet supplier / production lead times. Ensuring Purchase Order details are correct and updated. Keeping the Sales Department aware of any potential stock issues. Looking for a great team player to support the purchasing manager and purchasing functions. The purchasing manager and a purchasing assistant however will also have their own area of responsibilities. Stock reconciliation within warehouses / store locations and Stock control reports Liaise with internal and external sites to fulfil material requisitions Liaise with the estimating team to provide accurate pre-bid costings Raise and report on supplier non-conformances Support the purchase ledger/finance team on resolution of invoice queries/disputes Manage Pre-qualification of new group suppliers and maintain existing supplier database Accurately report cost changes in line with budgets/timescales Innovate with strategies to minimize up-front costs to the business Identify and develop new opportunities, supported by their manager Be supported in developing the above key skills Any other adhoc duties required and within capabilities Purchasing Assistant Requirements: Keen eye for detail and the drive to see a task through to its conclusion At least 2 years experience in Purchasing support Experience in MS Office Suite, Excel in particular (Advantageous) Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written Willingness to shape and develop their own role Full UK Driving Licence Purchasing Assistant Benefits: A competitive salary reviewable with progression A diverse & lively workplace that favours responsibility takers & team players If you think that you are suitable for this Purchasing Assistant role, please apply now
