Overview
Buyer / Material Planner An interesting position for Buyer has become available on a 6 month maternity contract basis working with an important business who are viewed globally for being at the forefront of their field. As Buyer you will have specific procurement responsibility for commodity parts and be responsible for dealing with UK and European based suppliers in a very busy and proactive environment. Role Overview Chase Orders as requested by the EU based Inventory team Ensure on-time delivery Be alert to potential problems and being able to prioritise workload Question and challenge suppliers where appropriate and seek / propose alternative solutions where necessary Chasing orders Reporting and updating management Plan / target any gaps Potential UK / European travel Background & Experience Previous procurement experience & materials planning You will be flexible in your approach to work – accountable for your own suppliers, happy to support/cover other members of the team during times of absence/busy periods You will be able to deal with differing priorities Be tenacious and proactively manage / question suppliers You will be an effective problem solver You will be organised and conscientious, a good team player and work effectively when working under pressure to tight deadlines Proficient with Windows (Excel, PowerPoint Excellent communicator Driving Licence Salary & benefits Salary circa £28-£30K per annum 37 hours per week with the flexibility to work additional hours to meet business needs where necessary Excellent working environment and on-site facilities to include subsidised canteen, free car parking For further information or to apply please contact Lisa Darbyshire on or email
