Machine Support Assistant Pre-Press, Night shift

Machine Support Assistant (Pre-Press, Night shift) Preston We are looking for a Machine Support Assistant to provide a high-level support service to keep presses operating efficiently in order to print a wide variety of self-adhesive labels in a busy manufacturing environment. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Liaise with the Production Planning department, Supervisors and Press Operators to make ready jobs as per the production schedule. Mounting printing plates and mixing inks. Delivering all components to the production presses in a timely manner (JIT). Assist with quality checks and Press minding duties. Maintain optimum quality at all times. Assist with set-up and tear-down operations. Maintain optimum Health and Safety standards and keep the area neat and clean at all times. Consistently achieve productivity targets. Complete accurate job records and time recording. This role requires: Great communication across multiple departments from shop floor staff, managers and their own team across the two other day shifts If English isn't their first language, it must be fluent enough to be able to take direction and understand instructions across all the above levels of the business Any previous experience mounting printing plates and mixing water based/UV inks would be an advantage Great organisational skills and the role will require multitasking as it supports 9 printing presses and 5 plain label presses on shift Good PC skills as the workload is PC based and will require continuous updates via the PC to update all departments and operators on the presses themselves HOURS OF WORK Monday night through till Friday AM 9.45pm till 6.30am (4 days 8.5hrs including 30 min lunch break - 33hrs total) then Friday evening 7.15pm till 11.15pm (4hrs no break) - total of 37.5hrs per week. PAY RATE £8.80ph this role also then receives 30% shift allowance on top of the base hourly rate QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Experience of working in a production environment to high quality standards whilst meeting targets and deadlines General computer skills To apply please send your CV and suitable applicants will be contacted.
