Title: Support Worker / Carer | CT1 Location: Canterbury, CT1 Nearest Tube/Station: Canterbury Wage: £13.00 Gross per Hour Weekdays | £15.00 Gross per Hour Weekends Driver required? Essential Use of a car? Yes, adapted vehicle, manual drive Essential: Experience supporting a younger client with complex care needs, non-smoker / non-vaper, confident supporting a young client in the water during swimming/hydrotherapy. Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Full and part-time permanent contracts available please see shifts below Family/Client Pets: None About this client/child: Our client Peter is 6 years old; he is a sociable and engaging cheeky chap who loves spending time with his younger siblings and his family. Peter has physical and cognitive disabilities; he requires full assistance for all activities of daily living. Peter is a wheelchair user, he uses specialist equipment such as a standing frame, walker and communicates using sounds and facial expressions. Peter loves Mr. Thumble, playing outdoors on the swing, sensory play, storytime and looking at fish Overview of role: As Peter’s support worker/carer you will assist with all aspects of his care plan, therapy programmes, self-help skills, personal care, accessing the community and participating in fun and educational activities. You’ll provide hands-on practical support, assist with meal prep, administer medications and continually promote Peter’s independence. Peter requires support before, and after-school, at the weekends and during school holidays. This is a new care package; we are offering full and part-time contracts, please get in touch with your availability. Shifts/hours available Monday to Friday: 07.00am to 09.00am to 3.00pm to 8.00pm Weekends and School Holidays: 07.00am to 8.00pm Who this job would suit: A confident, proactive and positive support worker/carer with previous experience supporting a young client with complex care needs.
