Overview
Winlight Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Children in Need service in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The pay rate for this locum Children in Need Social Worker position is £28-£32 per hour and is an initial 3-month contract. Candidates working in this team will have the opportunity to: Be the initial delivery point for statutory intervention using the Signs of Safety Model. Complete assessments of families and where required, develop plans, support and provide intervention action and safeguarding. Support children and families who are in need of both support and protection. If you are Achieving Best Evidence (“ABE”) trained, you will carry out child protection investigations under Section 47 of the Children Act. About Lowestoft: Easier to get to than you might think. The main A12 road from London passes through Carlton Colville, Pakefield and Kirkley in the southern area. It connects to the A47 road crossing the county border into Norfolk, towards Great Yarmouth. Working in Lowestoft social workers are encouraged to sit with different colleagues to support networking and joined up planning. Other county intensive support social work services such as edge of care (family solutions) and exploitation teams (make a change) are based alongside frontline social workers in each locality. Being surrounded by the other teams you work with really helps to ensure stability and permanency for the children and families you support. To be considered, you must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in Social Work, Social Work Degree or equivalent) as well as at least 2 years in a frontline Child Protection setting.
