This is standalone working for a well-established company. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to assist in the running of a successful local business. The ideal candidate will require strong communication and organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure to deadlines and to be part of a small friendly team with shared goals. Attention to detail is paramount, along with enthusiasm and a positive, professional nature. The candidate will be required to work alone and on their own initiative for much of the time and must be able to cope in a high-pressured stressful situation - the ideal candidate will be 'unflappable'. Responsibilities Accounts (Xero) & Banking Be a signatory on all bank accounts Be responsible for and oversee all invoicing and reconciliation Paying invoices Payroll Diary / calendar management Organising work schedules for employees and sub-contractors in addition to managing appointments for the Managing Director Compliance Ensuring compliance with relevant H&S law - liaising with relevant bodies. Ensuring the company complies with GDPR Applying for and maintaining appropriate licenses with the Environment Agency Checking sub-contractor's qualifications and insurance Human Resources Leading disciplinary hearings Planning staff absences & holiday Staff appraisals Liaising with colleges for apprenticeship schemes Recruitment Organising First Aid courses and other training Legal Drafting & reviewing of all contracts prior to issue or signing Drafting contracts for customers Debt recovery Materials and Equipment Ordering supplies Booking MOTs and servicing of vehicles and arranging tax Ensuring all equipment has been serviced and checked and is compliant with relevant HSE guidelines. Health & Safety Creating SOPs for all sites Producing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) for all major contractor works Ensuring all staff receive regular and appropriate training Overseeing dynamic risk assessments (carried out daily) Marketing Website maintenance Managing social media channels Promotional literature (overseeing design and distribution) Setting up and maintaining charitable partnerships General Improving the efficiency of the business Making cost savings Negotiating contracts Sourcing insurance policies (Employers liability, public liability, fleet insurance etc) Liaising with customers Planning Applications to Local Authorities Liaising with major contractors Procurement Implementing new systems Quote preparation Tendering for new contracts Key Skills Excellent attention to detail Professional telephone manner and a high standard of written English Knowledge of Microsoft packages Previous use of Xero is an advantage We are looking for a confident, self-sufficient and proactive character who likes to keep busy, and who is looking for an opportunity to develop and grow with the business.
