Overview
A leading electronics manufacturer are recruiting a Buyer. Applicants should have purchasing experience within an electronics or manufacturing business, the ability to work with BOMs or recognise components, and build relationships with global suppliers. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Production Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for providing an effective procurement offering to the business. The Buyer will be responsible for operational day-to-day management of suppliers, and also contributing to company cost saving targets through negotiations and supply chain rationalisation. Previous experience within electronics manufacturing - CEM or OEM, would be useful in this role as the Buyer will be required to work with BOMs and technically focused colleagues. Specific duties of the Buyer include Assess and review current supply chain partners; de-select and rationalise where appropriate Supply market analysis - identify, negotiate and on-board new suppliers Day-to-Day supplier management - avoiding of shortages, spot-buying/negotiation, drive OTD KPIs Monitor company inventory levels Analyse procurement department data and use this to make decisions Work with colleagues in engineering and production to drive LEAN thinking Arranging of shipments/deliveries with global suppliers Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria: Experience in the procurement of electronic components, sub-contract services and materials Negotiation and vendor management experience The ability to work with stakeholders in; manufacturing, operations, and production Knowledge of LEAN processes and techniques Experience managing stock and inventory levels Barclay Meade acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers and is part of Gattaca Plc.
