Overview
Due to the current situation regarding the coronavirus, the Royal Blind are keen to ensure we have the Residential Care Staff we need to continue to provide high quality care to those we support within our Adult Services based in Forward Vision, Allermuir and within Residential Care at the Royal Blind School. If you are interested in joining us on a temporary basis as a Residential Care Worker, then we would love to hear from you. Applicants must have an HNC in Social Care plus all eight SVQ 3 units (Caring for Children & Young People) or equivalent qualifications which are essential for registration with the SSSC/appropriate professional body. If you have relevant experience in a similar role and have an interest in and/or experience of additional support needs, then we would love to hear from you. Key Requirements : HNC in Social Care and SVQ3 (Caring for Children and Young People) Registration with the SSSC Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to change and respond positively to non-routine situations Ability to empathise with children and young people Due to the current situation some flexibility can be applied to registration requirements. Please note that hours are flexible and we can offer a variety of working patterns either on a short fixed term contract or casual basis where you would be contacted to cover shifts as and when required. Pay : £14.29 per hour / £27,503 per annum FTE The post is subject to a PVG Scheme Record/Update check for regulated work with vulnerable adults and vulnerable children.
