Overview
My client is keen to recruit an individual to take a lead role in their business which is rapidly growing - they have reporting and analysis requirements, with a heavy usage of Excel, which are going to significantly increase as the business does. They need someone that understands the fundamentals of accounting systems, but is innovative and capable of developing reporting systems with minimal input -they will consider someone at Management Accountant level - a star of the future who is ambitious and capable Principal Accountabilities: Produce financial management reports and information, in Excel, using core financial data and presenting information in a format to meet company requirements. Provide detailed analysis/interpretation of management information identifying variances/trends, with use of charts, as appropriate. Analyse and report on gross and product margins. Provide forecast income and expenditure reports. Advise the Senior Management team through the provision and interpretation of management information (actual's, budgets and forecasts). Support preparation of monthly and yearly financial accounts, carried out in an accurate and timely manner and ensure the business meets regulatory and statutory reporting requirements. Support development of Finance team members ensuring all tasks are completed. Development of electronic and manual financial systems in accordance with the needs of the business. Liaise with external Auditors team and other suppliers as required. Company interface with Customs & Excise for VAT including completion of Paye/VAT returns. Key skills must include: Analytical skills Ability to manipulate data in Excel Ability to take ownership and responsibility of tasks. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Part/Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA) 3 years accounting experience within a commercial business. Microsoft packages with advanced Excel skills.
