Overview

You will set up, run, and make this brand new project your own which helps young people create community projects, whilst gaining confidence and gaining new skills. The programme works with young people to enable them to set up and manage their own community development projects. Whilst at the same time, developing their skills to help them move towards education or employment. You will manage a team of 2, and will cover Croydon, Sutton, Merton and Richmond Upon Thames. The project works with the young person to give them a small budget over a 2 - 3 week period with the aim of them creating something that will contribute to the community. For example it could be a gardening project for a care home or creating a new website for a youth club. Typical duties include: Setting up referral partners to attract young people to the programme Support, Coach and Mentor your team Monitoring each community project through to completion Supporting each client with the transition into employment upon project completion. To apply, you must have experience of supervising staff, and be confident in being able to lead a project as well as the reporting aspect that comes with this. People with a background in regeneration or employment support / welfare to work would be a good fit for this. You might have worked as an Employment Support Manager, NEETS Manager or New Enterprise Manager previously (or similar).
