Workshop Technician Job Location: Poole, Dorset (near Fleetsbridge) Job Type: Permanent Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 / £11.34 - 12.32per hour DOE free onsite parking Hours: 39hours per week - 8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday with a 4pm finish on Friday Due to a long service retirement an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Technician to work with a leading company who design, manufacture and supply high quality products to both the B2C & B2B market. This well-known company have been established over 35 years and pride themselves on their wide range of bespoke and in demand products they have to offer and are now seeking a multi skilled individual to provide support to the business by producing prototypes. This is a really exciting and varied position that will include constructing and fabricating prototypes for the design team, by applying knowledge of workshop machinery, welding & construction techniques as well as ensuring samples are developed efficiently and accurately for design review and presentations. Key responsibilities within this role will include: Producing workshop fabricated samples Producing prototypes for the design team in an efficient manner, ensuring compliance with health and safety. Supporting & advising the design development to ensure the best possible solution for the brief Organisation and maintenance of workshop area Wiring & testing of prototypes for presentations Display of prototypes in the showroom, ensuring products are wired and installed in the required positions Supporting the photographic studio with set construction Organising, ordering and storing sample components and workshop materials The successful applicant will possess: Experience in metal working (bending extruded tubes, using & making formers) Excellent use of workshop equipment including; Welding Braising Pillar Drill Band Saw Electrical Wiring Milling Experience in wood work would also be an advantage.
