More about the role: As a Commercial Project Analyst you will be in regular contact with most departments in the business including our warehouse, transport team, quality team and our Outbases, so we need someone who can communicate with people on all levels in a friendly and professional way. You will report to the Commercial Manager and work closely with the wider Commercial team, ensuring projects are scoped, costed and implemented seamlessly into the day to day operation Here's what you can expect to be doing as our Commercial Project Analyst: You will be required to build complex business models within excel and work with the wider organisation to capture intelligence that could and may lead to financial change as volumes increase and new projects are implemented. As our Commercial Project Analyst you will be responsible for the production of reports, papers and dashboards for multiple stakeholders, using a variety of software and data systems to access and generate information – through competent analysis of this information, you will have the confidence in providing sound advice to Senior Management on any project dependencies, risks and opportunities. You will develop and embed strong project governance processes, ensuring standardisation of all project documentation and effective management of project progress. You will play an active part in the commercial planning function, regularly meeting with operational managers to ensure the business is adapting to accommodate the changing world. You will complete the above by… - Liaising with owners of key operational areas on relevant project developments on a regular basis. - Undertaking detailed project analysis and assisting with developing new initiatives across the business - Collating and analysing data, then putting this into reports suitable for a financially and non-financially minded audience - Communicating information with internal and external stakeholders - Generating reports using a range of IT and database systems A Few Things About You: You will be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills, a good understanding of large complex business models and be able to turn analysis and insight into decision making. This Commercial Project Analyst role would suit a qualified finance professional ideally. Skills and experience - Previous exposure to financial modelling, preferably from previous experience of designing project plans and liaising with operational owners - CIMA part-qualified (late stages) or proven QBE from a relevant role - Cost analysis, finance or business analysis experience - Experience of working in a pressurised environment and able to prioritise tasks - Experience at working with excel to manipulate and interpret data in a business environment - Confidence to present information to senior managers and challenge the status quo - Highly proficient in Excel (advanced or expert level) - MS Access is desirable Why choose AO: It’s not about the job you need now, it’s about who you want to be and where you want go.
