Overview

Working hours: Full time: 37.5 hours per week working Saturdays and bank holidays on a rota where applicable Part time: 10 – 25 per week. Saturday and Bank Holiday shifts available Candidate: We are actively recruiting both male and female Support Workers You will be lone working with our service users so will need to be proactive to deal with situations which arise and act accordingly in line with our policies and procedures. You will be able to identify and report safeguarding issues. You will be able to support in a positive non-judgemental way putting the needs of the service user first. You will need to be reliable and flexible to accommodate the needs of our service users. You will have good communications skills both verbally and in writing as you will be working closely with outside professional agencies and families. You will need to be a supportive member of our team, attending and contributing to team meetings. You will be expected to complete all compulsory training offered and further training to enhance your skills and development as a support worker. Role: You will be supporting our service users to enable them to make informed choices of how they wish to live in their own homes and to access the community for social, educational and work experiences. All service users have individual needs for their support, but they may include Support with correspondence Support with budgeting and benefits Support to make and attend medical appointments Support with housework Support to make informed choices on nutrition and shopping Support with education and work Support with housing and tenancy issues Support to access and attend social events As a support worker you will be responsible to write accurate records, write and update ISP’s and care plans, have excellent communication skills to work in partnership with professional agencies. You will also be expected to write reports and attend review meetings.
