Welfare Benefit Support Caseworker - Guildford Salary: £24,500 – £27,000 24 – 37 hours a week (full time or part time) The Company Our clients is a charity that help people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers. The Role They are now looking for a team player with a ‘can do' attitude to join their highly successful Welfare Benefits Service. You will report to the Project Manager and provide a welfare benefits advice service to people affected by cancer with the aim of maximising their income Your main responsibilities: Provide a welfare benefits advice service to people affected by cancer with the aim of maximising their income. Manage caseload, assisting clients to access their entitlements to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help. Interview and support clients in a sensitive but empowering way. Manage telephone or settings appropriate to the client group via outreach in health settings. Key Skills & Attributes Have good understanding of the welfare benefits system and procuring disability benefit. Have good advocacy with clients, advising and supporting people with disability. Good verbal and written communication skill. Experience working within Citizens Advice would be desirable. Out client will happily support the right person through accredited training to enable them to carry out the role.
