Overview

Five Education has been supporting a special school in South Bristol who are looking for an additional TA. You will be working with students in KS3 and KS4 who have an EHCP where the main need is SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs). Some of the students will have other needs. We are looking for a confident TA with outstanding behaviour management skills. You will be supporting on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. Responsibilities and duties: Working with the class teacher on differentiation Be flexible and willing to work with students outside the classroom Supporting the students with their social and emotional needs as well as their educational needs Using de-escalation techniques to ensure pupils are calm and able to access the full range of education offered Acting as a positive role model for young people Providing feedback and helping with assessments Essential Criteria: A non-confrontational approach Reliable and consistent to build trust Resilient and patient Good levels of emotional intelligence Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes. Able to work 8.30-3.30, 5 days per week term time only Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment.
