Overview
Optometrist Banbury, Oxfordshire: Full-time / Part-time Overview As an Optometrist you are an integral part of our close-knit team. We are an independent, family owned optical practice, providing first class eye care in a professional, friendly, relaxed and unrushed environment. We are not based in the town centre but, right in the heart of our community and offer eye care at home as well as from the practice itself. In addition to what a regular eye care practice offers, we have additional contracts in place with local health authorities, to provide services for minor eye conditions, diabetic screening, domiciliary and glaucoma, furthermore we privately offer a dry eye clinic and colourimetry assessments. We are a Zeiss and Optik Mizen lens partner practice, dispensing and manufacturing the highest quality eye wear in the area. Testing Times/Consultation Room Currently, thirty minute appointments in our clean, modern, consultation room, decorated in neutral colours with oak effect flooring and furniture. Fully equipped with computerised test chart, oculus trial frame, trial lenses, NCT, Perkins, DRS retinal camera, slit lamp, field screener, Visionix VX 120 and all ancillary tests required. About you Clinically focussed, you must have a passion for people, be friendly, polite, articulate, professional and enthusiastic about providing the best service to our patients. Reliable, conscientious, trustworthy with a willingness to learn new skills and go the extra mile, you will posses a meticulous attention to detail. You should be able to work off your own initiative and communicate well with our experienced team. You will be registered with the GOC, on the NHS performers list, hold your own indemnity insurance and be qualified to BSc (HONS) level or above. Ideally you will also posses MECS, GRSS and Diabetic screening qualifications and/or accreditation. Hours By negotiation, but full days that start at 9.30am, last appointment at 5.00pm with a minimum break of 30 minutes for lunch and shorter coffee breaks throughout the working day. Saturdays are currently 9.00am, with last appointment at 12.30pm. We are open to accommodating a different working pattern for the right candidate, which could include, for example late nights. We do not open on Sundays, bank holidays or between Christmas and new year. Career Progression We will support you both personally and professionally to reach your full potential as an Optometrist and become a leader in your field of expertise. You will also gain experience in providing an Optometric service in our community, initially for one day per month as part of our at home service. We would actively encourage participants who wish to develop the business further, either clinically or commercially and the possibility exists for a partnership or purchase of assets and shares in the future.
