Overview

Job Purpose: Achieve departmental objectives by leading staff, organising and monitoring work progress Key Accountabilities: • Prepare and ensure adherence to Shift Production Plan based on that issued by Planner • Co-ordinate team of packers on lines within assigned extrusion area to achieve business objectives • Ensure 100% accurate completion of Quality Documentation (e.g. Quality Check Sheets • Ensure adherence to Quality Standards and Specifications for all extruded products • Ensure adherence to Safe Systems of Work by packing team • Ensure 100% accurate completion of production (output, downtime, scrap) records • Constant audit of lines within area of responsibility to identify and action any non-conformance • Immediately resolve any packaging non-conformance issues (protective film, bagging, paperwork, labelling, damage, stillage protection etc.) within area of responsibility • Immediately escalate any manufacturing related non-conformance to Technician • Ensure "first off" sample system is followed for each new production run / restart • Operate a "clean as you go" policy to ensure work area cleanliness. • Report any hazards, near-misses or accidents that could endanger the safety of you or another person Key Experiences: • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and quickly adapt to new software • Ability to use own initiative and work under own supervision • Must be assertive to ensure compliance with procedures • Ability to explain processes / procedures & train others Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required: • Experience leading people in a manufacturing environment • Knowledge of polymer extrusion processes Personal Attributes: • Leadership - strong, consistent, clear, inspire others, integrity, ability to drive through change • Action orientated - Able to deal with problems in appropriate time frames • Driven by results - Decisive, confident addressing problems and opportunities, challenging activities to improve performance, demonstrate willingness to challenge accepted methods and standards • Effective communication - Clear concise written and spoken, ability at all levels, customer, supplier and internal • Strategic agility - recognition of a changing need and speed of response, rapid reaction to challenges • High Standards - demonstrating a motivation to improve standards and thereby making a real difference, challenging inadequate solutions • Integrity and trust - demonstrating a sense of commitment to openness, honesty, loyalty and high standards in undertaking the role • People management - demonstrating commitment to working and engaging constructively with internal and external stakeholders
